Are any Marcelle® products tested on animals?

No.  No Marcelle® product has been or will be the object of tests conducted using animals.

Where can I find Marcelle® products?

Marcelle® products are sold online at marcelle.com and across Canada, in most drugstores and other retailers.  To find out which retailers offer our products, consult the page named "Where to Find Us."

Is it possible to still get my favourite Marcelle product even if it’s been discontinued?

Some of our products are discontinued because we have launched newer, improved versions of them, or the trends may have shifted and Marcelle® must constantly evolve in order to remain on the cutting edge and continue to move forward. Moreover, some of our promotional products are offered for a limited-time only. The idea behind this strategy is to offer our consumers the season’s hottest trends in makeup.

The best thing to do is ask your in-store cosmetician or try on samples yourself to help you find the Marcelle® product that is closest to the one you had.

Is it possible to have an allergic reaction to a hypoallergenic product?

Before it is launched onto the market, every new Marcelle® product undergoes rigorous testing. Please note that we cannot be deemed admissible of liability on the part of our company or its suppliers with respect to any damage claim related to nut, gluten or other allergies following the use of our products.

It’s possible that certain ingredients contained in some of our products could be among those you are allergic to.  So, if you know the names of the substances you’re allergic to, you can find out which products contain them by using our search by ingredient tool.

We strongly recommend always performing a patch test before using any new skin care product of any brand, for anyone with known allergies, with sensitive skin or for anyone who has previously experienced a reaction to a skin care product.

This procedure helps determine if one may have allergic sensitivity to a product or ingredient. It is best performed by first applying the product on the inside of the wrist or elbow and wait 24 hours to observe any skin reactions or irritations. If the skin does not present any abnormalities following the first application on the inside of the elbow, then the product may be applied on the neck. Once again, it is best to keep the product on the skin for a minimum of 24 hours and evaluate how the skin reacts to it. Ideally, the subject will apply the new product on the neck skin once a day, for three days in a row.

After 3 days of applications on the neck, we suggest letting 3 days go by without any applications. Resume application of the new product on the neck on the fourth day. If there are no reactions after 24 hours, it is highly unlikely that the product would cause a reaction on facial skin.

Are Marcelle products oil free?

A lot of our products are oil free. Please refer to individual product pages to see if a product is oil free.

Can we buy the Marcelle products on line?

Yes, Marcelle products can now be ordered online.

I like your self-tanners; unfortunately, they do not seem available all year long.

Unfortunately, only one of our self-tanners is available year-round. The other self-tanners are available during promotional periods only.

What are the expiry dates for Marcelle products?

The only Marcelle® products to have a printed expiry date are our self-tanners and products which offer sun protection (SPF). No other product has an expiry date.

Any Marcelle® colour cosmetic or skin care product has a shelf life of an approximately 24 to 36 months (2 to 3 years). The shelf life is established understanding that the products are preserved in the best possible conditions; i.e. in a cool and dry place, away from any source of heat or humidity, and without any sunlight or direct light exposure. Once a product has been opened, the freshness of the product will gradually diminish, no matter which brand of products you purchase.

You may easily keep, in normal conditions, a Marcelle® skin care product in a pump for 12 to 18 months, up to 12 months in a tube and between 6 to 12 months in a jar.

Any colour cosmetic product should be discarded 12 months following its first usage. Mascaras should be thrown out after 3 months of usage. Of course, any colour cosmetic product which may have been used during a time of infection (cold sore, blister, conjunctivitis, pink eye, etc.) should be replaced immediately.
