  • A Spring-Inspired Rose and Violet Look

Posted on 07/06/2012 by Rae Chen

With spring weather *finally* settling in (Mother Nature was a little late bringing  in the warmer days this year!), I thought we'd share a really easy, soft Spring make-up look today. When I think Spring, I usually think of really romantic, ethereal bouquets, and Marcelle's Urban Chic Wet & Dry Eye Shadow Quad seemed perfect for this look - so please read on and I hope you enjoy the look!

    Start with the basics…

    1. Apply a thin, even layer of Marcelle BB Cream with your fingers or a flocked sponge; set with Marcelle Loose Powder if desired.

    2. Using a Marcelle Duo-Eyebrow Pro, fill in your brows using short, light strokes.

TIP: if your brow colour looks too drawn-on, simply smudge the colour with the brow gel and brush on the other end. The effect? Brows that are still filled in, but look completely natural!

    3. Take Marcelle 2 in 1 Retractable Eyeliners in Amethyst and Copper along your upper and lower lashlines, respectively, to act as a base for your eyeshadow and intensify the colour, and blend out the edges using the sponge tip.

    Then, add some colour…

    4. Using the Marcelle Urban Chic Wet and Dry Eye Shadow Quad, apply the pink-lavender (bottom left) shadow to the middle of your lid. Smudge the muted plum (bottom right) onto the outer 1/3 of your lid, and blend it into your crease. (For a stronger eye, simply apply with a damp brush!)

    5. To “wake up” your eyes, apply Marcelle Wet and Dry Eye Shadow in Polar to the inner 1/3 of your lids and blend into the pink-lavender from Urban Chic.

    6. Next, take the Copper eyeliner you used earlier on your lower lashline and, using short, smooth strokes, line just above your upper lashes.

    The finishing touches…

    7. Swipe Marcelle Rouge Xpression Lipstick in Paris Rose onto the back of one hand. Then, using the fingertips of your other hand, pat it onto both your lips and cheeks for a soft, ethereal effect. Top your lip colour with a bit of sheer gloss (I used Marcelle Lux Gloss Crème in Bellissima) for a more casual look.

    8. To complete the eye, apply one coat of Marcelle Xtension Plus Mascara and a demi-strip of false lashes if desired.

The final step is simple - get out there and enjoy the sun! Hope Spring is off to a great start for you ;o)

  • Brows are the new black and Marcelle Duo Eyebrow-PRO can help!

    Posted on 20/04/2012 by Lisamarie

Unless you've been living under a rock, you must have noticed that brows are making a strong statement this season  - a trend which seems will be carrying into Fall.  This means that you might as well make peace with the fact that statement brows are here to stay and do something about your own! Those of us who didn't live through the scary pencil thin brows of the eighties probably still have some eyebrow hair left, so please take my advice and do yourself a favour - put the tweezers down!

I am living proof that if you pluck eyebrow hairs enough they will stop growing and when natural brow trends come back (like now) you will be sorry (like me)! You only want to be plucking stray hairs that are not part of your natural brow line and you also have my okay to take care of any uni-brow issues. Now you just need to fill in any sparse areas or add some dramatic flair with colour!

This new product - Marcelle Duo Eyebrow-PRO can help you with achieving either a natural or more dramatic brow look. This double ended product has a slanted, waterproof pencil on one end and a lightly tinted, natural hold gel with a brush on the other.

For a natural look, pick the Duo Eyebrow-PRO closest to your natural brow colour and use the pencil side to fill in any sparse areas. Then use the gel side to hold your brows neatly in place.

For a more dramatic, runway worthy look, pick the Duo Eyebrow-PRO that is one shade darker then your natural brow colour and apply the pencil all over your brow. Try not to go to far outside the brow line, brow pencil on skin does not look like hair, no matter how hard you try! Use the gel side to help set the colour and keep your brows in place, go easy though, you don't want to disturb all your hard work!

comes in Dark, Brunette and Blond with a SRP of $14.95

The only thing we need now is an auburn colour for us gingers... ;o)

  • Lux Cream Eye Shadow + Liner

    Posted on 11/04/2012 by Lisamarie

I expect my men to do more than just one thing (make money and buy me presents) so it really stands to reason that I would expect my eye products to be able to fulfill more than one need!

Marcelle Lux Cream Eye Shadow + Liner offers waterproof, smudge-proof, transfer-proof and crease resistant colour that will last you 9+ hours! The formula is creamy and glides on without tugging at your eyelids which also makes it perfect for lining. What's really clever is the blending sponge on the other end to smudge the line or blend the shadow, just make sure you do your blending fast, once it sets it isn't going anywhere! And while it is a budge-proof colour, I still recommend wearing a primer underneath especially if you tend to have an oily eye area - you'll get more bang for your buck that way!

Most importantly, it comes in a bunch of pretty colours: Enchantmint - mint green; Wisteria - purple; Ballerina - pink; Vanilla Ice - cream; Sunstone - golden; Taupe du Jour - taupe; Sea Breeze - green blue; and Cloud-9 - blue. Use them to shadow, line or both - the hard-working Vanilla Ice also makes an excellent highlighter for the inner corners of the eyes or under the brow bone!

And of course they're hypo-allergenic, perfume free and opthamologist tested!

Lux Cream Eye Shadow + Liner - SRP $13.95
