Fashionista Challenge for a hot mamma
A short while ago, I was attending a conference filled with mom bloggers in the audience. One of them came to me, recognizing me from my Twitter picture. Everyone gets their 3 seconds of fame, right? I assume this was mine. Nevertheless, we started chit chatting and she discovered I was there representing Marcelle. She obviously knew the brand and she's a cosmetic lover! The first minute I engaged in a conversation with Fedwa, what struck me was her utmost feminity. She exudes womanliness. Mother, lover, and shoe-aholic, she has a contagious smile that turns into a laughter that has the exact same effect. Easy to talk to, she enjoys life, remained very close to her inner child as she developed into a woman, and is absolutely great company. This lady is irresistible! She's also a businesswoman.
She writes for her blog, La vie tout simplement, and the fashion lover in her came up with a fabulous fashion-forward idea. After all, she resides in Montreal, a city well known for its fashionistas! Every month, a different fashion blogger will be styling Fedwa. The challenge: doing it on a $100 budget. It starts with a used pair of shoes. The stylist has to select a pair of shoes from Fedwa's personal (and huge) shoe collection. The look of the month stems from the chosen footwear and evolves depending on the mood created by the fashionista. Then, the two ladies go accessories and clothes shopping and when the cash register rings at the end of the day, it can't exceed $100.
The stylist for the month of January is Danisha, a seamstress who is nothing short of passionate for accessories. Really, I'd be curious to find out how many rings and scarves and necklaces the girl owns! Her blog, L'essentiel e(s)t l'accessoire (In French, it's a great play on words. It roughly translates to "The essential and/is the accessory"), is an ode to, you've guessed it, the ornaments that we love to have in our wardrobes.
What's in it for Marcelle? We get to enhance Fedwa's pretty Marrocan features with our colour cosmetics :o) Professional make-up artist Catherine Laniel created the look for January's Fashionista Challenge. Pictures are a courtesy of photographer Julia C. Vona and hair by Ludovic Leroy.
