In a recent survey conducted with nearly 800 Canadians, 77% said that they would be more likely to select a sunscreen product bearing the Canadian Dermatology Association's logo, which recognizes sunscreen products that meet a standard that provides effective sun protection.
The Canadian Dermatology Association is a known and trustworthy source of information when it comes to skin health. Since 1989, the CDA has helped Canadian consumers make the right choices when it came to selecting sun protection for the prevention of skin cancer by placing its logo on specially approved products. Because its mission is to “offer patients, their families and the public, education on the prevention of skin cancer and other ways to maintain a lifetime of healthy skin, hair and nails”, the CDA has just launched a new initiative: the Skin Health Program.
This new initiative by the Canadian Dermatology Association, backed by objective medical specialists providing expert advice for the maintenance of healthy skin, hair and nails, is to help guide consumers in choosing healthy skincare products.
The CDA’s Skin Health Program’s seal of recognition can only be found on products that meet the following criteria:
-are fragrance free
-are non comedogenic
-have been tested under dermatological for hypoallergenicity
-have a low potential for irritation
-do not contain the most common contact allergens.
