Brows are the new black and Marcelle Duo Eyebrow-PRO can help!

Friday, April 20, 2012 at 13:11, Lisamarie

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you must have noticed that brows are making a strong statement this season  – a trend which seems will be carrying into Fall.  This means that you might as well make peace with the fact that statement brows are here to stay and do something about your own! Those of us who didn’t live through the scary pencil thin brows of the eighties probably still have some eyebrow hair left, so please take my advice and do yourself a favour - put the tweezers down!

I am living proof that if you pluck eyebrow hairs enough they will stop growing and when natural brow trends come back (like now) you will be sorry (like me)! You only want to be plucking stray hairs that are not part of your natural brow line and you also have my okay to take care of any uni-brow issues. Now you just need to fill in any sparse areas or add some dramatic flair with colour!

This new product – Marcelle Duo Eyebrow-PRO can help you with achieving either a natural or more dramatic brow look. This double ended product has a slanted, waterproof pencil on one end and a lightly tinted, natural hold gel with a brush on the other.

For a natural look, pick the Duo Eyebrow-PRO closest to your natural brow colour and use the pencil side to fill in any sparse areas. Then use the gel side to hold your brows neatly in place.

For a more dramatic, runway worthy look, pick the Duo Eyebrow-PRO that is one shade darker then your natural brow colour and apply the pencil all over your brow. Try not to go to far outside the brow line, brow pencil on skin does not look like hair, no matter how hard you try! Use the gel side to help set the colour and keep your brows in place, go easy though, you don’t want to disturb all your hard work!

comes in Dark, Brunette and Blond with a SRP of $14.95

The only thing we need now is an auburn colour for us gingers… ;o)

Lux Cream Eye Shadow + Liner

Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 14:35, Lisamarie

I expect my men to do more than just one thing (make money and buy me presents) so it really stands to reason that I would expect my eye products to be able to fulfill more than one need!

Marcelle Lux Cream Eye Shadow + Liner offers waterproof, smudge-proof, transfer-proof and crease resistant colour that will last you 9+ hours! The formula is creamy and glides on without tugging at your eyelids which also makes it perfect for lining. What’s really clever is the blending sponge on the other end to smudge the line or blend the shadow, just make sure you do your blending fast, once it sets it isn’t going anywhere! And while it is a budge-proof colour, I still recommend wearing a primer underneath especially if you tend to have an oily eye area – you’ll get more bang for your buck that way!

Most importantly, it comes in a bunch of pretty colours: Enchantmint – mint green; Wisteria – purple; Ballerina – pink; Vanilla Ice – cream; Sunstone – golden; Taupe du Jour – taupe; Sea Breeze – green blue; and Cloud-9 – blue. Use them to shadow, line or both – the hard-working Vanilla Ice also makes an excellent highlighter for the inner corners of the eyes or under the brow bone!

And of course they’re hypo-allergenic, perfume free and opthamologist tested!

Renforcils Waterproof Eye Make-Up Remover – takes the day off, not your lashes!

Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 10:34, Lisamarie

Even when I’m not wearing waterproof make-up, I always use waterproof remover – I figure the less effort I have to use to get my make-up off, the better it is for my lashes. The one thing I’m not crazy about though is that oily film that gets left behind with most removers.

Enter Marcelle Renforcils Waterproof Eye Make-Up Remover – this cooling, oil free gel removes waterproof make-up without the gross oily film. As if that wasn’t reason enough it also contains a lash fortifying complex made up of: Lactolan – which stimulates and regenerates lash roots while protecting and repairing for more beautiful eye lashes; Widelash – reinforces lashes to limit fall-out and conditions them so they appear longer, thicker and stronger; and Provitamin B5 – an emollient that calms, softens and hydrates skin.

I’m also thinking this will be great to keep in the fridge during the hot summer months – how wonderfully cool feeling will that be taking off your make-up after a long, hot day!

Marcelle Xtension Plus Mascara – because length matters!

Monday, January 30, 2012 at 15:22, Lisamarie

As far as I’m concerned there are two types of people in the world: people who like their mascara to lengthen and those like it to thicken. I suppose there are mascaras out there that claim to do both and I guess if you are the kind of person who can’t make up their mind about which camp they fall into, this might be an option for you, but really, don’t you think that’s kind of wishy washy? Pick a side already!

I’m a lengthening person myself so my little ears always perk up when I hear about something new and exciting that promises to give me length, definition and in this case also curl! The fact that the name starts with an “X” doesn’t hurt either, it makes it sound kind of naughty…

Marcelle Xtension Plus Mascara knows how to whet my appetite by promising me extreme lash and ultimate curl with a specially developed polymer brush that defines and separates lashes while minimizing clumping and increasing lash length by coating each and every lash. One side of the brush offers a row of longer bristles that grab even the smallest lash and stretches them from root to tip up to their maximum potential with a tapered end that eases dispersion even on those hard to reach lashes. If you love being grabbed, this is the mascara for you!

The expert tip for using this mascara is to begin application with the longer row of bristles to grab and coat each lash, then rotate the brush to apply with the other side to finish your look. For an even more dramatic effect, apply more than one coat and stretch the outer corner lashes with an outward movement using the tapered tip of the brush.

Personally, I’m a long time fan of Marcelle mascaras. I’m a frequent sufferer of allergies of unknown origin that cause my eyes to water like crazy so during these bouts, I have to be careful about what I’m wearing on my eyes so as not to aggrevate the problem. As Marcelle mascara’s are hypo-allergenic, perfume free and opthamologist tested, they are a great choice – also excellent for contact wearers too!

Marcelle Xtension Plus Mascara comes in black and brown and has a SRP of $12.50

As for those thickening people… well you can’t really trust them anyhow, can you…?
